Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Selects CiRBA For Data Center Intelligence CiRBA will Support Risk Management for Statewide Infrastructure and Operations
Toronto, Ontario and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania - June 20, 2006 -CiRBA Inc., a leader in Data Center Intelligence, today announced that the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has licensed CiRBA’s Data Center Intelligence (DCI) solution to detect detailed configurations and understand differences between systems across the data center. The centralized data center is shared by agencies under the Governor’s jurisdiction, such as the Governor’s Office, Department of Labor and Industry, Pennsylvania State Police, Department of State and Transportation, among others. CiRBA will provide deep visibility into the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s IT infrastructure, supporting risk management for the ongoing deployment of new and existing applications.
“Our team is responsible for servicing and supporting the various state agencies in Pennsylvania,” explained Stephen Dunn, Enterprise Server Farm Manager for the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of Administration. “To ensure successful operations, we follow a rigorous deployment methodology to test new applications before putting them into production for statewide use. We plan to use CiRBA to minimize potential risk by automating the process of comparing configurations in our staging and production environments. Ultimately, this will enable us to better serve our statewide agencies, giving us a high degree of confidence as we deploy new applications and put them into production.”
CiRBA’s software solution detects highly detailed configurations, changes and differences across heterogeneous environments, providing a clear advantage to organizations struggling with manual processes for analyzing the data center to pinpoint risks, problems and opportunities for optimization. For the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, CiRBA will identify differences between staging and production environments so environment configuration differences that could adversely impact application performance are identified and corrected prior to the application being promoted into the production environment.
“Despite the accelerating number of applications and new software added to the data center on a daily basis, organizations today are challenged by limited resources for production support,” said Gerry Smith, president and CEO of CiRBA. “Testing applications in a stage environment isn’t always enough, as there can be unexpected variables when moving code into actual production. Data Center Intelligence can support a number of business initiatives from risk management to IT asset optimization, ultimately affording customers tighter control over their infrastructure and operations.”
